Course changes include

  • Adding or dropping a course
  • Swapping courses
  • Withdrawing from the program

Winter course changes

Summer course changes

If you decide to add, drop, and/or swap courses, visit your Accepted Student Portal and submit your change by the deadline outlined on the Precollege Summer Academic Calendar.

Note: If you don't formally drop a course, but never attend or stop attending, you will receive a low or failing grade in that class and will be liable for the tuition and any fees.

Summer program withdrawal

To withdraw from a summer course before your session start date:

  • Visit your Accepted Student Portal and submit your withdrawal form. (See Refunds and Withdrawals for refund information.)

To withdraw from a residential summer course on or after your session start date:

  • Meet with Daniel Kratochvil, SCE's Senior Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and Precollege Studies acting director. Contact precollege@cornell.edu or 607.255.4987 to schedule an appointment.
  • Visit your Accepted Student Portal and submit your withdrawal form. (See Refunds and Withdrawals for refund information.)
  • The date you meet with the director and submit your withdrawal form will be your official withdrawal date.
  • You are required to leave campus on the day you withdraw.

To withdraw from a commuter or online summer course on or after your session start date:

  • Visit your Accepted Student Portal and submit your withdrawal form. (See Refunds and Withdrawals for refund information.)
