Course description

The use of digitally driven fabrication tools constitutes an important skill set for future designers, engineers, artists, and architects. Rooted in the emergence of fab-labs and maker culture, this three-week course introduces students to the fundamentals of digital fabrication. Students will become familiar with 3D modeling, parametric design, and fabrication software through a series of hands-on workshops and tutorials. Students will fabricate their design explorations using laser cutters, 3D printers, and robotic CNC machines in Cornell AAP’s state-of-the-art fabrication shop.

This course may be counted as a free department elective toward the B.Arch degree. It may also be used to satisfy a requirement for the architecture minor.
