Course description

Covers fundamental chemical principles, including reaction kinetics, thermodynamics, and equilibrium. These principles are presented quantitatively and explored in the laboratory. Considerable attention is given to the quantitative calculations and techniques important for further work in chemistry.

Students may not receive credit for both CHEM 2080 and CHEM 2150. Course fee: Students without a prior chemistry lab course (CHEM 2070 or CHEM 2090), will be charged a $20 nonrefundable lab fee that covers the cost of safety goggles, lab apron, and breakage.

Prerequisites

CHEM 2070 or CHEM 2090. CHEM 1560 is accepted, but not recommended.
