Notes:

This is an inclusive course that builds upon an expanded study of traditional printmaking processes through various forms of print media. We will focus on the ways that the natural world impacts our art making practice and methods in which can collaborate with our environment. Site visits to the Cornell Botanic Gardens, F.R. Newman Arboretum, Kroch Rare Manuscripts Collection, and local trails, gorges and waterfalls will serve as our inspiration and partners. We will use the sun, natural dyes, flowers, trees, and plants to develop a cohesive body of work grounded in print media that reflects a research-based methodology, including material investigation and technical refinement. Emphasis will be placed on installation, the artwork as object multiple, and conceptually provocative works.
