Pre-Collegiate Summer Scholars Program

The Pre-Collegiate Summer Scholars Program (PSSP) will be offered as a residential program from June 19 through August 7, 2024. PSSP scholars will reside on North Campus, introducing them to the first and second year living community along with their academic work.

Invitation-only program prepares students for the academic rigors of college

The Pre-Collegiate Summer Scholars Program (PSSP) is designed to help students prepare for the challenges of their first year at Cornell. As part of admittance to Cornell, a student may be either required or invited to participate.

Course schedules will be determined by the college to which a student is admitted. Typically, students will be enrolled in:

  • Regular summer session courses;
  • Enrichment courses in areas such as writing, biology, quantitative and physical preparation, economics, or mathematics; and/or
  • A college achievement seminar focusing on skills such as time management and academic stress management.

The program includes workshops, guest lectures, and a wide range of social and cultural activities.

Participation in PSSP is restricted to students selected by college offices. All students are notified of their acceptance into the program by mid-May.

Tuition, fees, and room and board charges are covered by the program.
