Course description
Birds capture the imagination of nearly everyone! The more you understand birds, the more you will enjoy them. This course takes students on a learning journey through many fascinating aspects of avian biology, including the diversity, ecology, behavior, evolution, anatomy, physiology, and conservation of the world's birds. Cornell is a world-leading institution in the field of Ornithology and this course takes great advantage of our comprehensive resources for exploring the many reasons that birds are so captivating and inspiring. Although this is a college-level course that touches upon many scientific disciplines, the only prerequisite is your strong interest in birds and their place in the environment.
In addition to the regularly scheduled lectures, students will be expected to complete 1-3 hours of pre-class work through the Lab of Ornithology's online learning platform, Bird Academy.
