Opening Day Schedules
Here's a general schedule for your first day at Cornell!
- 9:00–Noon: Move in
- Review the instructions on the move-in procedures page.
- 11:30 a.m.–2:00 p.m.: Free time
- Explore campus and have lunch:
- Students’ meal plans begin at lunch, and they can use their Cornell ID card at the dining halls and on-campus cafes.
- Parents/guardians may buy lunch with a debit/credit card (no cash).
- Toni Morrison Dining Hall is the closest to North Campus. View dining halls’ hours and cost here. Please visit Cornell Dining Now for other dining option locations and hours.
- Explore campus and have lunch:
- 2:00–3:00 p.m.: Convocation
- The Dean of Cornell’s School of Continuing Education, instructors, the Residential Director, and residential staff members will welcome students, parents, and guardians to the program and share important information.
- We highly recommend that students, parents, and guardians attend. If your parents or guardians are not able to make it to Cornell, we invite them to watch the live stream.
- 3:00–4:00 p.m.: Formal student sign-in and goodbyes
- Students formally sign in and say goodbyes to parents and guardians outside the residence halls.
