You'll receive an invitation from Playground (prepforsummer.com) to select a 15-minute move-in slot between 9:00 a.m. and noon on your Opening Day. Look for an email a few days before your arrival confirming your move-in time.

When you get to campus, park in the A-Lot and then proceed directly to Robert Purcell Community Center to receive your ID and residence hall key and submit any outstanding forms. You'll also meet with nurse Jada Torney at that time to review your health forms and drop off all over-the-counter and/or prescription medication.

From there, you'll receive approval to move into your dorm and begin unpacking.

Early arrivals

If you plan to arrive before opening days on June 22 or July 13, please book off-campus accommodations. Although Precollege Studies can neither accommodate pre-program “early arrivals” nor recommend lodging, we do suggest you check out the Visit Ithaca site for options.

Late-arrival procedures

If arriving between 11:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Park in A-Lot and then proceed to Robert Purcell Community Center to begin the move-in process.

If arriving between 4:00 and 10:00 p.m.

Before Opening Day, email cornellprecollege@summerdiscovery.com with your expected arrival time. When you get to campus, park in A-Lot and check in with staff at our office in the JAM residential hall. If you're arriving after 7:00 p.m., please be sure to bring dinner.

If arriving after 10:00 p.m.

One day before Opening Day, email cornellprecollege@summerdiscovery.com with your expected arrival time.

  • If you're arriving with your parent/guardian, park in A-Lot and check in with staff in the Robert Purcell Community Center.
  • If you're arriving independently, check in with staff at our office in the JAM residential hall.

NOTE: Summer Discovery will be monitoring cornellprecollege@summerdiscovery.com throughout Opening Day and will respond to messages within 15 minutes.
