Tuition & Fees for Precollege Programs
All courses offered through Cornell SCE are regular, credit bearing Cornell University courses taught by Cornell instructors. Grades and credits earned are recorded on an official Cornell University transcript.
Because these are credit bearing courses, tuition is set by the Cornell University Board of Trustees.
Tuition rate (Fall 2025 through Summer 2026):
$1,940 per credit for enrollment in undergraduate courses
Charges do not include the nonrefundable $75 application fee.

Online students are charged tuition only.

Precollege Summer Commuter Programs
Commuter students are charged tuition plus the Cornell Student Health Fee, which is included in the totals below.

Precollege Summer Residential Programs
Residential students are charged tuition, the Cornell Student Health Fee, and the residential fee, all included in the totals below.
Three-week sessions

- 8 credits: $22,274

Cornell Student Health Fee
The $159 student health fee, included in applicable program charges above, supports access to on campus health services.
The fee listed reflects the 2025–2026 rate. Please check back in March 2026 for the 2026–2027 rate.
Residential Fee: What It Covers
The residential fee is included in the program charges above.
The fee is $3,287 for 3-week programs and $6,595 for 6-week programs and covers:
- Housing in a Cornell residence hall with 24/7 supervision.
- A full meal plan.
- Access to student life programming and safety services.
- Participation in learning activities, admissions workshops, and social events.
These services are provided for the full duration of the program.
Student Health Insurance Plan (SHP)
In addition to the student health fee, some students may be enrolled in Cornell’s SHP, which provides comprehensive health insurance while you are at Cornell.
If you're an international student
If you live outside the U.S., are studying on campus and are enrolled in six or more credits, you will automatically be enrolled in Cornell's SHP for the duration of your program. The cost will be added to your program charge.
If you're a domestic student
If you live in the U.S., are studying on campus and are enrolled in six or more credits, enrollment in Cornell's SHP is optional. To enroll, contact the Office of Student Health Benefits.
Important notes
- Students enrolled in fewer than six credits are not eligible for SHP
- Summer 2026 coverage dates: June 22 through July 31
- Summer 2025 cost: $670

Submit your total program charge as soon as possible so an I-20 can be issued. Visa related information is available on the international student applicants page.
Official enrollment
Summer Session
A $1,500 enrollment deposit is required at the time of course selection. This deposit is applied to your total program charge and is nonrefundable.
You are not officially enrolled until:
- Full payment is received
- All required forms are completed
Course space is limited. Delayed payment may result in losing your seat if the course fills.
Winter Online Session
No enrollment deposit is required.
All tuition and fees must be paid within four business days of official course enrollment or the course will be dropped.
Once enrolled, the SCE Registrar will email instructions for finalizing enrollment, including your payment due date.
