All campers are expected to participate in weekly all-group field trips on and off campus. There is no alternative care available for those who do not want to attend.
Trips are scheduled in advance and will be on the printed calendar that you'll receive on the first day of your child's session.
Only Cornell authorized and trained counselors may drive camp vans. Generally, two counselors per van are assigned on all trips.
Note for parents of Tykes (ages 4–5)
All Tykes under 80 pounds are required to use booster seats or car seats in our vans.
We will provide booster seats.
However, if you have a preferred car seat that you would like your child to use, please leave it with us for the week so we may store it in the vans for your camper's use.
Swimming & water activities
Swimming or water activities are available almost every day, so please send your child to camp with a swimsuit and towel, along with a plastic bag for their wet bathing suits.
Although all Cornell pools will be closed for renovations during summer 2020, we will offer swimming during field trips to state park pools.
All campers are required to take a swim test every time they go to a pool. If they cannot pass the deep-end swim test, they may swim in the shallow end under counselor and lifeguard supervision.
Please be advised that violation of any of pool rules may result in the revocation of pool privileges for the remainder of the summer.
Rules include, but are not limited to, no running, no glass in pool areas, no roughhousing, no dunking, and no horseplay in the locker rooms. Campers will be reminded of these rules every time they go to a pool.
