Summer College is working with Cornell leadership to monitor the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and help ensure the health and well-being of our students, faculty, staff, and community. We are dedicated to helping you continue your education during this difficult time.

Please visit the Cornell coronavirus website regularly for updates, information, and resources for students.

Update on Summer College 2020

  • Due to COVID-19, the 2020 Cornell University Summer College will be held entirely online.
  • On-campus programs through August 16 are cancelled. Almost all of our on-campus programs are being converted into online offerings. Please check the program page frequently for updates and bear with us as we work to make this transition, which may take several weeks.
  • All regular Cornell Summer College online classes will proceed as scheduled. Please check the roster frequently for updates.

While we know there is no replacement for our on-campus, residential experience, the good news is that all online courses are regular Cornell classes that give you a chance to study with Cornell faculty, work alongside undergraduates, earn college credits, gain a Cornell transcript, and get a head start on preparing for college applications.

We also will continue to offer you our one-on-one admissions counseling and other engaging ways to connect with Cornell.

Options for accepted students

As an accepted student, you are eligible for these options:

  1. If your program is converted to an online course, you may automatically be enrolled in it at a reduced program charge that reflects only academic (per credit), not residential, fees. We will post details about your course on your program page, which we suggest you check frequently over the coming weeks. We ask for your patience as we work to update our roster.
  2. If you prefer, or if your program is not converted to an online offering, you may select a course from Summer College’s roster of previously scheduled online courses.
  3. You may contact us to withdraw and request a full refund, minus the application fee.
